SAS VISUAL ANALYTICS
Our team was tasked with creating a business intelligence report using SAS Visual Analytics with Florida car crash data. The data represent three years (2008-2010) of crash metrics in Florida. The data set includes age group of crash victims, weather conditions, geographic area of crash, crash location (e.g., bridge, driveway, parking lot, railroad, etc.), month, injury severity, number of fatalities, crash traffic control, county, day of the week, contributing cause (e.g., drinking, drugs, etc.), vehicle harmful event, etc. We decided the most beneficial way to display and analyze the data would be to group some of the major themes together in individual tabs. Our first tab was a Home page which included some of the most important insights we collected, followed by the tabs Severity, Contributing Causes, Time, and Location. Below are some visualizations organized by the themes with insights we gathered from the models. Click the button below for a more in depth background on SAS Visual Analytics!
